Philips' latest business monitor, the 49B2U6900CH, offers three useful features for the modern digital workspace. The 48.8-inch superwide display has a curved frame and boasts 5K (5120 x 1440) double QHD resolution, providing wide viewing angles that would normally require two separate screens. It has a built-in low blue mode with flicker-free technology and is installed on a height-adjustable stand.
One of the main features of the new monitor is an adjustable webcam with auto-framing. It adjusts to include all team members within the frame during video calls, and can be tilted 30 degrees to accommodate users of different heights.
Equipped with a noise-canceling microphone, for added convenience, the 49B2U6900CH includes an earphone hook on the bezel, providing a neat storage solution for your headset.
Busylight, placed above the webcam, is our favorite addition and is designed to communicate your work status. When a user is on a call, the light turns red, reminiscent of the old “on air” lights seen outside of live broadcasts. You can also turn it on and off manually using the Busylight hotkey on the monitor bezel. This feature can sync with your Microsoft Teams status.
I also like the smart KVM feature. By pressing the “Ctrl” key three times the user can switch sources and when he controls two of his PCs with one set of peripherals he has to navigate the OSD menu lose.
This monitor supports USB-C connectivity, making it easy to charge external devices and transfer video/data using a single cable.
The Philips 49B2U6900CH monitor will be in stores in February and will retail for £959.99.
