Super Bowl 2024: How to throw a Taylor Swift-themed party for the big game

It's no secret that the Swifties have taken over the NFL. Ever since Taylor Swift made her Chiefs Kingdom debut in September to cheer on her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, fans of the pop star have been attending and watching NFL games. continues to do so.

The focus on the Swifties has proven to be a financial boon for the NFL. While some may be concerned about how much attention NFL broadcasts give Swift, he doesn't actually get that much air time.

The Chiefs will be playing in Super Bowl 58, and the Swifties are waiting to see if their favorite singer will arrive in Las Vegas to cheer on the team on Sunday. This week, Swift brings her blockbuster Elas Tour to Tokyo just before Kelsey's big game.

Whether Swift is in attendance or not, die-hard Swifties like myself can expect to be rooting for Kelce and the rest of the Chiefs when they take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. But I'm going to celebrate this year's Super Bowl in true Swifty style. I invite my friends to a Swift-themed party, where soccer takes a backseat to the singer. (And yes, I still hold out her hope of meeting her.)

Read on for tips for planning a Swift-themed Super Bowl party. For more information, here's how to watch Super Bowl 58 and everything you need to know about Taylor Swift's Ellas Tour concert footage.

Choose the right music

It wouldn't be a party without a great playlist. For your Super Bowl party, I've done my best to curate a Swift Forward playlist that captures the pregame excitement. So I aimed to include songs that were similar to Shake it Off (Taylor's Version) and a little bit dissimilar to All Too Well (Taylor's Version).

To be fair to Kelce, I've also included a few songs from his Apple Music playlist, The Warm-Up. Again, the playlist is meant to curate a game day atmosphere that excites your guests.

Snacks and drinks tailored to the theme will be provided.

The first thing I did when planning this party was to think of interesting cocktail and mocktail names for the drinks. This is a fun way to get your friends involved and a super cute way to celebrate. If you're short on ideas, Blake Lively (a prominent member of the pop star's team) has a Swift-themed Super Bowl drink for you.

Create Friendship Bracelet Party Favors

A Swift concert tradition you can bring to your game day party is making themed friendship bracelets for your guests. It's a new tradition that started at the start of the 2023 Eras tour, in reference to the song “You're On Your Own, Kid” from the album Midnights. Basically, fans create friendship bracelets based on song lyrics, Swift quotes, or funny fandom moments.

You can easily apply this same logic to your Super Bowl party by creating friendship bracelets that reference both Taylor and Travis. You can also include references to Kelce's jersey number (87) and Swift's lucky number (13). Or you can cut out pages from the couple's book and make a bracelet featuring his nickname TNT.
